Oceanside Man Accused of Murder
Murder is perhaps the most serious felony charges a person can face. If convicted of murder, a defendant can face up to a lifetime in prison. For this reason, it is imperative to have proper representation and an experienced lawyer.
Dontaye Henderson, an Oceanside, California resident, is being accused of murdering his wife. On January 1, 2011, Mr. Henderson inflicted a fatal wound that killed his wife. After the deadly shooting, Mr. Henderson fled the couple's apartment and headed towards St. Louis, Kentucky. Mr. Henderson denies shooting his wife intentionally, which the Prosecutor would has to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" in order to obtain a murder conviction.
Although the District Attorney's Office has charged Mr. Henderson with murder and a parole violation, a jury could find Mr. Henderson guilty of a lesser offense of manslaughter if his defense team can prove the murder was unintentional.
