Jury gets molestation case against in-home day care operators
A Jury began deliberating yesterday, March 16, 2011, in the case of a Mission Valley couple, Mark and Anita Kaczmarczyk, who are accused of molesting and abusing children at their in-home daycare. The Kaczmarczyks have been charged with four felonies, two counts of committing a lewd and lascivious act on a child under 14 and two counts of child abuse. The couple also faces two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.
Deputy District Attorney Lucy Weismantel argued yesterday that the Kaczmarczyks injured two children, a 2-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, who had been under their care in 2007. According to the Prosecutor, the boy suffered a bruise to his penis and the girl had tearing and other injuries to her genitals. If convicted, the Kaczmarczyk's face up to 20 years in prison.
